With each and every step forward into the #newstories we remember and embrace the history of the Shipyard and the people, who formed the first community in the Shipyard.

Two years ago, when the pandemic was taking its first steps, we had no doubts about where we should direct our help to. Ever since we’ve visited our former shipyard community members with seasonal packages, to show them our support and take the time to have a little chat. We kept them updated about what is going on in the area. Since we’ve told them about the re-opening of the Dyrekcja building back in December 2020 and promised to invite them, we had returning questions about this promise. Unfortunately for a long time, the epidemiological situation made it impossible to organize such a meeting. But finally, the time has come for the Easter bunny to receive guests in the Dyrekcja building for a common Easter breakfast, which took place on Great Thursday.

We’ve met over a full table in the historic board room, where the first talks between striking shipyard workers and the Director of the Gdańsk Shipyard in August 1980 were held. We’ve shown our guests what we’ve done over the last few years in terms of placemaking and investments and gave them a proper tour around the Dyrekcja building.

During our meeting, we had also a special surprise. We’ve connected online with Marek Osiecimski, director of the “Shipyard workers. People from the Background” documentary and “Archives of Shipyard Workers Memories” series. Marek told how much attention the documentary and series got.

The Easter bunny couldn’t forget about our Dyrekcja community. First thing in the morning we visited with our adorable little Easter bunny Hania our regular tenants with some treats. At noon we’ve met with our Mind Dock coworking community over Easter brunch to catch up and wish them Happy Easter, which we also wish to you.
