Fire Station lease agreement signed

With the refurbishment of the historic building underway, we are very pleased to welcome Mielżyński Wines Spirits Specialties as the new tenant of the former fire station.

The well-established wine importer signed a 10-year lease agreement for the 2-storey building, which will be transformed into a wine shop and restaurant. Racks and pallets with wine, a tasting room, and a wine bar will be located on the ground floor, in the place of the former fire trucks’ garages. The restaurant with an outdoor terrace will be created on the first floor.

Robert Mielżyński, the founder of Mielżyński Wines Spirits Specialties, is a visionary, who already runs similar operations in Warsaw and Poznań. While creating new concepts he actively supports the development of culture and participates in creating authentic neighborhood spaces.

The fire station dates back to 1884 and initially housed administrative and social functions. In 1903 it was transformed into the headquarters of the fire brigade, including a coach house and a stable for horses for fire teams. Unique details like the fire-fighting slides, steel gates, and shooting windows will be carefully restored to remind of the building’s history.

The restaurant and wine store will open in the second half of 2021.
