CUMY MAKERSPACE

Community of craftsmen, artists, designers and new technologies creators, based on the MakerSpace idea

CUMY is a community of craftsmen, artists, designers and new technologies creators, based on the MakerSpace idea. Located in the beautiful Hardening Workshop next to the M3 crane, it is an open-space workshop with the aim of bringing together the crafts community, enabling cooperation, education, and information exchange.

The space is subdivided into areas for working with metal, wood, composites, and biomaterials. The place is all-crafts-friendly and contains carpentry and locksmith workshops, 3D printing and biomaterials lab, small office space and a showroom.

The activities take place in an open space and in the spirit of collectivism. Some tools are available for general use, while other machines require prior workplace training.

The workshop is dedicated to craftsmen, artists, designers, students and hobbyists, represent at least two generations of craftsmanship. On the one hand, people with a long track record, educated in vocational schools, often running their own workshops in the same place for many years. This group is complemented by young, innovative and creative craftsmen, who very often are self-taught, looking for a place to work, collaborate and find new business opportunities.

To find out more about the space and keep yourself updated on upcoming events, be sure to follow CUMY on Facebook.
