Another year at the shipyard is coming to a close and we reflect on a year that gave us some manifestations of normality, but still wasn’t the normal we know and are used to. Last year the epidemiological situation forced us to reconsider our tradition initiated in 2018, to together with the Socially Safe Foundation and fantastic partners invite people to join our Christmas Eve table. We still found a way to reach out to our fellow citizens with a helping hand. Under sanitary regime, but we are very happy that this year we were able to return to the tradition of a joint Christmas Eve dinner.

Thanks to Joyevent this year our Christmas Eve table was located at the Dok Cesarski. It was a full house with guests enjoying their food and lively conversations around the Christmas trees donated by the Employers of Pomerania. Over the course of 3 hours, we welcomed over 100 guests and gave out dumplings, Borsch, fish, and yummy cakes donated by the local confectionery Baccate. Everyone who followed our invitation received a food package prepared by the Tricity Food Bank, which included sweets from the Gdansk Tourist Organization and items bought with donations received from members of the Business Centre Club Gdańsk Lodge.

Last but not least the day after our Christmas dinner we jumped into our motorized sledges and visited former shipyard workers to surprise them with Christmas packages full of seasonal items.

2021 was a special year on many levels, sometimes even a rollercoaster ride. Still, it is in our human nature to keep on going. So, throughout 2021 we continued to work to ensure the revitalization of the Imperial Shipyard. We welcomed new tenants to the Dyrekcja Building and finished the refurbishment works on the Fire Station. In good spirits and with dedication we continue going the extra mile to create the place for a new community to rise. We can’t wait to write more #newstories in 2022.
