A new year means also a new challenge – this time for students of the Architecture Department of the Sopot University of Applied Sciences. Together with the “Education, Practice, Development” Foundation and Mirage Group, we announced a competition for the temporary development of a fragment of the Imperial Shipyard area in Gdańsk.
The aim of the workshops and the competition under the slogan “Mind Dock – CNTNR Village at the Imperial Shipyard” is to create a unique place for start-ups, small companies and alike, using the sea container as a building block.
Taking advantage of waterfront access and the cool industrial setting we envision
an attractive place for professionals that look for more than just a workplace.
During the workshop cycle, students will learn from specialists how to design services, urban spaces and become familiar with the specificity of construction and use of sea containers.
Then, under the supervision of professionals, the students will have the opportunity
to design a unique place for start-ups, small companies and alike, in a cool industrial setting. The best three works will be rewarded.
We are excited about this next step in our place-making activities on the Imperial Shipyard.
